Integrative Internal Medicine
Our primary care approach focuses on optimizing health, preventing illness, and promoting wellness. The approach is patient-centered and begins with lifestyle management. The uniqueness of the practice is the integration of complementary medicine with conventional Internal Medicine.
ADVANCE BIOMEDICAL TREATMENT CENTER
The treatment modalities utilized is based on Functional Medicine. It is a comprehensive, rational, and step-wise approach to treatment that starts with improving the diet (high protein, low carbohydrate), removal of offending agents (dietary elimination of gluten, casein, wheat, yeast, additives, chemicals); use of anti-fungals; restoration of the normal gut flora with acidophilus and multidophilus; normalization of gut function including digestive enzymes; removal of toxic metals through chelation; vaccine precaution; anti-vitals (including Vitamin A, immunotherapy); detoxification; and correction of nutrient and vitamin deficiencies.
This scientifically-designed program includes a targeted nutrition, a modified diet, simple exercise, and basic recommendations for stress management. It includes a powdered beverage mix to support metabolic detoxification, a modified diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that reduce the allergen and toxin load, helping the body to detoxify efficiently; a simple exercise program that it not strenuous (allowing the body to cleanse and rejuvenate more efficiently); and adequate stress reduction and sleep.
Medical Weight Loss
This scientifically-designed program includes a targeted nutrition that involves taking a Metagenics protein-powder, a modified eating plan, moderate exercise (30-minute of brisk walking, 5 days a week; resistance training and stretching), and stress management techniques. A weight-loss consultation will be scheduled every two weeks and will last about 15-30 minutes.
Verju Laser Therapy
The non-invasive Verju laser has recently received FDA market clearance to treat the appearance of cellulite on the thighs, buttocks and lower abdomen and for non-invasive body contouring of the waist, hips, and thighs.
Intravenous Nutrient Therapy
IV nutrient therapy bypasses the digestive tract where many nutrients may be lost due to poor absorption. This form of therapy allows for the administration of therapeutic doses of nutrients, helping support optimal health by delivering vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream. It is used for a multitude of chronic infections, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, heavy metal toxicity, malabsorption syndrome, autoimmune diseases, depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other neurological disorders.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
A specialized form of treatment administered by delivering 100% pure oxygen to a patient through increased atmospheric pressure greater than 1.3 ATA in an enclosed chamber. At pressures greater than normal, the body is able to incorporate more oxygen into blood cells, blood plasma, cerebral spinal fluid and other bodily fluids. The increased oxygen absorption significantly enhances the body's ability to aid in its own healing. Once a person is in the increased atmospheric pressure, the body responds by reducing inflammation. With the reduced inflammation, the bloodflow increases the delivery of oxygen to oxygen-deprived areas.
Vitamin & Nutritional Supplement Shop
For the convenience of our patients, we have a one-stop shop where vitamins and supplements that have earned the highest reputation for quality and efficacy may be purchased. These highly-selective supplements were personally chosen by Dr. Comia and are marked at competitive rates.
Specialized Laboratory Testing
Chronic exposure to toxins affect us at the cellular level, a place that is generally undetected by conventional methods. Usual blood testing by traditional laboratories check for serum (fluid of the blood) levels, not intracellular. Hence, customary methods of blood testing are repeatedly "within normal range" or "non-specific". To help understand what is going on in your body, we have picked-out certain laboratory tests from various specialty labs. These are tools we need to evaluate and assess the level of "dysfunction" you suffer from:
